Diablo 3’s Season 36 calls us to brave the hellish landscapes of Blizzard’s popular ARPG between its start and end dates, revisiting one of the seasonal themes from the game’s storied past.

Although the developer has now fully shifted to developing Diablo 4’s post-launch content, the third entry in the series continues to draw in both players looking for their regular nostalgia fix and newcomers who have yet to experience its approach to endgame.

Diablo 3 Season 36 Release Date

Diablo 3 seasons usually stick around for approximately three months. They generally start on Fridays and conclude on Sundays, although we have had exceptions to this rule in the past.

Diablo III’s Season 36 start date is now locked in to September 12 at 5 PM PDT/CEST/KST.

Its end date should then occur at some point in December 2025, nicely wrapping up the year, provided plans don’t change in the meantime.

Diablo 3 Season 36 Theme

Diablo III’s Season 36 theme, The Lords of Hell, allows us to fight fire with fire by hunting down Soul Shards and using them to infuse ourselves with the essences of Hell’s Lords.

Seven unique Soul Shards – three for Prime Evils, four for Lesser Evils – await, granting combinations of base and additional powers that alter how our builds play.

Diablo 3 Season 36 Cosmetic Rewards

In terms of cosmetic rewards, we can obtain the chest and glove slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set alongside portraits themed around the High Heavens and the Fiacla-Géar.

Completing the Season Journey then adds the Terror Resurrected Portrait and the Lesser Mummy Pet to the list.

Diablo 3 Season 36 Journey Rewards

Diablo III’s Season 36’s Season Journey allows those of us who haven’t already to unlock up to five extra stash tabs by completing certain objectives. Take a look at the full list:

Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII within five minutes.

Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55.

All I Do Is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season.

Money Ain’t A Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty.

Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem.

Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item.

A Little More: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo

Arachnophobia: Kill Queen Araneae on Torment XIII in under 30 seconds.

Diablo 3 Season 36 Seasonal Conquest

Diablo III’s Season 36 also rotates the available seasonal conquests, as is tradition. Boss Mode and Worlds Apart let you show off your buildcrafting ability by quickly killing lots of monsters. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop lean into leveling Legendary Gems.

From there, Cursed Chests, Curses! and Stars Align are all about getting plenty of kills, while The Thrill and Super Human challenge us with clearing content without using set items.

If that last one sounds a bit boring, Years of War and Dynasty specifically test our mastery with certain class sets, so there’s a fair bit of variety.

During Season 36, Haedrig’s Gift allows us to complete our collection with pieces from the sets listed below by simply completing specific chapters of the season journey:
