How to Update your Phone List Data in ServiceNow

1. Access your Profile in ServiceNow. You can do that as follows: a. Under Self-Service in the navigation bar at the left, click "My Profile". b. Alternatively, click this link and then log in if you aren't already logged in. 2. Scroll to the bottom of your profile and select the "User Contact Info" tab.

3. To update an existing entry: a. Double-click on the Contact Info which needs to be changed; you will see the familiar list-edit box. b. Modify the entry as needed and hit Enter to save it. c. Don't worry about parentheses or dashes unless you need to enter more than 10 digits; 7-digit and 10-digit phone numbers will be formatted for you automatically when you save them. 4. To add a new entry: a. Click the "New" button above the User Contact Info list.

b. Select the appropriate Contact Type. Contact Types are organized first by general type (Email, Pager or Phone) and then by specific type (Business/Personal, Alphanumeric/Digital, Business/Home/Mobile, etc.); the "Phone - Business" contact type also has several sub-types to choose from: Office, Shared, or SpectraLink – if you aren't sure which, stick with "Phone - Business". c. Fill in the contact information; email or pager addresses should be given as full SMTP email addresses (e.g. [email protected] or [email protected] for email).

TIP: Add or edit the most important entry of a given type LAST.

ServiceNow's user pop-up which you get from the hover icon beside Pick Caller, Pick Alt Contact or Assigned To on the Incident form only displays 1 of each contact type (home phone, mobile phone, email, etc.). The one which gets displayed is the one which was most recently added or edited, so if you want to have (for example) 2 or 3 different entries of type "Phone - Business" (or any of its sub-types) save the most important entry for last.
