A Windows or Mac laptop or desktop computer is required. Chromebooks, tablets, cell phones, and other devices are not permitted. Only one monitor or screen is allowed with a minimum resolution of 1366 x 768. 1920 x 1080 is recommended. Be aware that some antivirus software can cause performance issues, and only one student per household should test at a time. There must be an internal or external webcam that can be moved to show the proctor the testing environment. Students using laptops with built-in webcams will be asked to move the laptop to show the entire room. Test takers must have a speaker and a microphone. Headphones, earbuds, and microphones that are part of a headset are not allowed. If the student’s hair covers their ears, the proctor may ask them during check-in and after breaks to show that they are not using headphones or earbuds. The testing location must have a reliable, consistent internet connection fast enough to search the web or stream music. A VPN is not permitted during testing. Some corporate, business, or school networks may have settings that prevent testing. The testing computer, mouse, and keyboard must be on a table or desk. The work surface and surrounding area must be free of all items not approved for use during testing. The student must be seated in a regular chair, not on a couch, bed, or floor. Test takers must be physically located in the United States or Canada. The student must be alone during testing in a well-lit room without posters or visible items that could benefit them and free from music, talking, or other noises. Test takers must dress appropriately; their picture is taken at the start of testing. A parent or guardian can assist during the initial connection, room scan, and explanation of rules. Once these steps are completed, the parent/guardian must exit the room before testing begins but remain in an adjoining room to assist in the rare circumstance where an issue arises. Cell phones are not allowed during testing. Students may have two blank pieces of paper, a pencil, a glass of water or a water bottle without a label, and all approved testing accommodations. The work surface must be clear of all other items. Food and snacks are only permitted during scheduled breaks. (责任编辑:) |
