3C2A News Release

Since its stunning reverse sweep in the 3C2A state championship match v. Fresno City, Feather River College is poised to set the tone once again as the top team in California Community College women's volleyball in 2025. The Golden Eagles lead the state in victories at 9-0 and top the CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings after two weeks of action.

Feather River led a North-dominated run at the 2nd NorCal-SoCal Showcase held at Bakersfield College Aug. 29-30. FRC, #2 San Joaquin Delta and #3 Fresno City all went 4-0 and no South team had more than one win each. Last year's state tourney MVP Chloe Albiez (FRC) became the first CCC player in two years to receive a coveted AVCA National 2-Year College Player of the Week.

The Showcase All-Tournament Team featured Feather River setter Teya Gibbs, Delta setter Paige Taylor, Fresno pin Haiden Arbelo, Sierra right side Lila Jarvis, Bakersfield libero Chloe Lopez, Grossmont setter Norma Ramirez-Barba, Long Beach outside hitter Cynthia Hinojosa, and Moorpark setter Daylin Saiki.

At #4, San Mateo boasts a 4-set win over perennial Big 8 power American River.

In the South, San Diego Mesa rolls in at #5 with its lone loss to Feather River in three, but a 30-28 second set. Meanwhile, #6 LA Mission is one of 13 undefeated teams left in the state at 6-0 and appear to be building on last year's advancement to the 3C2A state tourney.

Santa Monica, No. 7, Orange Coast, No. 8, Santa Barbara City, No. 9, and American River, No. 10, round out the State Top 10.

This week on Sept. 5-6, the Delta Classic once again brings all the North's top teams together in a battle for supremacy in the region.
