The Sardine Factory in Monterey’s Cannery Row is a must-do whether you live in Monterey or are just visiting. Open since 1968, the restaurant was a film location for the old Clint Eastwood movie “Play Misty for Me”. Note the photos on the wall near the bar. My husband and I attended an appreciation dinner at the Sardine Factory hosted by Wonderful Pistachios. The hours d’oeuvres were exceptional, especially the goat cheese toast with pistachio and fig. This was followed by a four course meal. For me, the highlights were the Prawn Bisque and Pistachio Torrance Semifreddo for dessert. The service was exceptionally good and so was the ambiance. We dined in the Conservatory, a glass walled room. Be sure to check out the Captain’s Room and the old photos on the walls leading to the restrooms. The Sardine Factory really is a special restaurant, perfect for Monterey. It is not “touristy”! Highly recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Service was exceptional. Food was an absolute delicacy and the atmosphere in the dome is beautiful. First off our waitress was amazing, the whe staff in fact very attentive. The food was so mouth watering I was definitely satisfied with a great meal. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The sardine factory is incredible. One of the best meals we have ever had. We came to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and we couldn’t have picked a better spot. The atmosphere in the greenhouse was tranquil and bright. The food was unmatched. We love seafood! Jose was an incredible server. A+ all around. Highly recommend if you want a luxurious evening out.
