Team USA’s Mikaela Shiffrin entered her fourth FIS Alpine skiing slalom World Cup of the season at Courchevel, France (16 December), with three straight wins to her name, and made it four with another dominant performance, posting the fastest time in both runs on the Stade Émile Allais. In the first women’s night slalom of the season, Shiffrin led the field by 0.83 seconds after the first run and extended that advantage to 1.55 seconds with a commanding second run. Speaking after her win, Shiffrin was asked about the secret behind her commanding margins. “I’m just pushing. I’m not asking questions,” she said. “Sometimes you’ve just got to take it and roll with it, because these women are pushing—they’re pushing like hell—and so I have to push too. It’s a wonder that I made it to the finish this time.” (责任编辑:) |
